About
The Soprano Veronika Magdalena Würfl was born in 1994 in Hutthurm, Bavaria, and received her first musical training in singing, violin and piano at the early age of 6.
Among other things she attended the musical part of the Auersperg-Gymnasium Freudenhain.
Several 1st prizes at “Jugend musiziert” represent the beginning of her artistic career. Already as a teenager she performed numerous public concerts, among others at the opening of the festival “Europäische Wochen Passau”.
Veronika Würfl is the winner of the Golden Tuning Fork in singing, which was awarded to her in 2009. She also demonstrates her vocal talent by participating in many choirs and Ensembles, including the concert choir ProvoCantus, Audi Youth Choir Academy, Das Vokalprojekt, Divertimento Vocale, VocAlea and Lauschwerk.
Veronika Würfl developed a special interest in baroque music at an early age, and has already participated in several productions with the Akademie für alte Musik Berlin.
Veronika Würfl studied classical singing with Ms. Beatrice Niehoff at the UdK Berlin and received her bachelor’s degree in 2017. After graduation, she debuted as a soloist with the Ensemble Wunderkammer at the Berlin Konzerthaus with Claudio Monteverdi’s Marienvesper.
While still a student, she focused on early music, which she has since continued to develop in master classes with Emma Kirkby (2016) and Julien Pregardien (2019), among others.
After several experiences in university productions (LES TROIS SOUHAITS, film opera in three acts by Bohuslav Martinů; Purcell’s DIDO AND AENEAS and Chiarini’s IL GELOSO SCHERNITO), she performed as an ensemble member at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich in 2018 in the contemporary opera DIE VORÜBERGEHENDEN.
However, Veronika Würfl devotes herself mainly to concert work, and can be heard regularly as a soloist in the Bach Cantatas at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin (most recently 22.05.21), as well as an ensemble member of Lauschwerk, among others.
